by Andrew Gerrand

Go is a new open-source programming language with an emphasis on simplicity, comprehensibility, and efficiency. It has the speed and safety of a statically-typed language and the lightweight feel of a scripting language. It has a simple feature set that is easy to understand and powerful to use, including a novel type system and concurrent programming primitives. This talk will dive into some real-world Go programs and discuss the Go idiom used in each.

Between the github code and the videos, this has me very excited about go.

Andrew's response to the attack at 56:40 is nothing short of stellar. I hope I can be like this in the face of Haters.

I think Andrew handled it amazingly. He not only told the man off for being needlessly insulting, he also proved him wrong and did so with confidence. Really made the old man look foolish.

I wish the go documentation had at least one "example" of every given function call. It's kind of hard to figure out how to call a function even thoug godoc tells you the function signature.

Do you need to lock the map even just for reading?

@enneff For clarification, I was referring to the British guy at the end that attacked Go, calling it a terrible language.

Man, who is the loser at 56:40? It sounds like his whole reason for attending the conference and this talk was to read his pre-prepared insult.
