For future reference I would quote the non sale price unless the “sale” price is permanent. For $250 I think the price is pretty inoffensive. The idea of someone picking this up for the non sale price of $426 would be shocking.

Other than that I really enjoyed the video and appreciate the peak at something I didn’t even know existed.

The flat wall of the tent fly reminds me of my Big Agnes Salt Creek 2p tent fly. I love any tents with awning feature :D

FireMaple added some really cool features to an OG base design. I think the new Hubba Hubba LT 2P increased their length and width from the original design, but not as wide as this FM tent.

If it’s a true 2 person tent, then the 2 people using it can split the weight. 2 1/2 lbs isn’t bad for a shelter.

$240. In March 2024, the Big Agnes Copper Spur UL2 was on sale for $265. Right now (Oct 2024), the MSR Hubba Hubba is on sale at MSR for $275 (50% off). The point is that there is always a big sale on a BA, Nemo, MSR, Mountain Hardwear, etc. brand … which makes this too expensive. Oh, and it’s a full 1 lb heavier than those other tents (albeit a tad larger, too).

For a true 2 person tent, the weight isn’t bad. Split up between two hikers it’s totally manageable.

I feel so dumb for getting a MSR Hubba hubba as my first tent when I could have saved hundreds of dollars on all the near identical clones on the market.
even if I almost never use it now that I use trekking pole tents.

Its heavier than the nx2 but has less weather covering on the inner being all mesh, it looks like an ok tent its nothing new, but I do love fire maple gear in general still think somehow there an under rated brand oddly

Nothing I’ve bought from Firemaple has stayed in my pack very long. Not that there’s anything much wrong with any of it just that whatever reason it hasn’t quite ticked all the boxes and I’ve found something designed a little lighter or more packable or something

I am kind of confused by the price of this tent the specs and weight of this tent seem similar to tents in the 150$ to 200$ price with similar designs so not sure why you would get this over like a naturhike or paria outdoors tent.

That's actually naturehike mongar with firemaple brand. Here in Indonesia naturehike mongar is so popular and this firemaple tent was a joke at all.
