Sherman M4A2 *Super Sherman Prototype* - Walkaround - Saumur Tank Museum.

This Sherman was signed up in 1944, with the 12th RCA of the 2nd French Armored Division
and nicknamed Corse.

After the war, it was used at the ESAM of Bourges as a test bed
for various modernizations.

The Tank was fitted with a StuG mantlet and a 75mm CN 75-50 gun.
These modifications were part of the development of the
M50 Super Sherman.

After testing it was placed on a target range and left there
for many years, it was salvaged and send to Saumur, were it was
restored.

The 75mm gun and StuG mantlet were replaced by a vintage WWII 75mm
gun and mantlet.

After the restoration was done the Sherman was placed at the entrance
of the museum.
