Not sure this qualifies as a weather station. Weather stations actually monitor the current local weather with additional instruments that you put inside/outside your house.

oooh LOVE that - I think you could run it on a Pi and view it on a tablet (say, an old phone or an old tablet) to overcome the touch-screen requirement. I'd tend to set it up as an always-on service on a Pi that just sits there and manages information feeds like this - you could view it in an iframe or something in a larger status page couldn't you?

Wonder if the Pi could somehow be programmed to intercept/use the wireless signals from my LaCrosse/Sharp weather station sensors... that would make it into a true weather station rather than just a radar appliance.

This weather station pulls data from established weather reporting stations. It does not use sensors connected to the pi. It is similar to a WeatherBug app. Lewin’s system does a great job of pulling maps and climatological information and displaying both on a simple interface.

You’ll need to register on both Mapbox and ClimaCell for their respective API key. For ClimaCell, choose the developer option. The API key will later be labeled “secret key” and is used in WEATHER API KEY in the weather station setup. For Mapbox, it’ll be labeled “public token” and will be used in MAPS API KEY in the weather station

I still feel like almost everything that has online media in it runs incredibly slow in the Pi. I recently installed a current version of Kodi on a Pi 3 B+ and the Youtube plugin runs like it did on the Pi1! It's unbelievably slow, thumbnails won't load, videos won't start immediately and so on. It's really quite disappointing and I wonder what the limitations are that cause this. It's especially confusing because many people say the Pi is a great media player and I never felt about it that way. Looking at how slow this weather station is reminded me of this off-topic rant :)

i cant seem to find api key from climacell? do i need to have a paid subscription with them?
