Roland TR8S + Korg Minilogue XD - Making a hiphop beat! #TSR19

This is just me, making a quick little beat on the Minilogue XD and the TR-8S, having PJ from Roland to help me out with the scratching on the DJ-505 and just basically having a lot of fun!

I didn’t have much time to play with these two pieces of kit before I started shooting this video. I think that says a lot about the ease of use with new hardware like this! A drum machine, a synth and a bit of time goes a long way!

This video was shot in a video studio in Treppendorf, Germany at the Thomann Synth Reactor event. Thanks to Thomann, the arrangers and everyone in the crew for helping us out and being amazing with everything!

I have been using an OG minilogue, a bass station II, and a TR-8S combo. I recently sold my minilogue and have the xd on preorder. This video was super fun to watch to see what they will sound like together. You can do so much with these instruments.

Nice. I like drum machines without quantization as well. I’ve played the prologue and had both the minilogue and monologue. I do chill hop mostly and although I loved having fun on the minilogue it never had the smooth sound I was looking for. The monologue had a great filter but was sharp as well. The prologue was fantastic and I’m hoping with the new filter and oscillator that the minilogue xd is similar.

Accurate I love your videos and your information and your opinions I was wondering for an old school beat maker as myself could you do a hopefully long tutorial but at least an in-depth tutorial on the MPC 500 I'm sure myself and other non software head would appreciate that those of us who need a refresher course from someone as knowledgeable as you I would appreciate it and please consider it thank you

I've connected the tr-8s with the Minilogue through midi and right now only the tempo is synced. How do I set it up so both tempo is synced and when I press play on the TR-8S, the Minilogue follows?

Can you plug a instrument into the tr8s and record the instrument instead of going to the computer

I gotta say the Minilogue sequencer did look super simple to use, the first time you entered a note into it my eyes went wide like "This shit should be built in most controller keyboards, it's so easy".
Compared to the Keystep sequences it's much more simple.
