Lyrics

we’re separated by a margin of a greater degree
the same flesh and blood but in a different lane
i read the remedy too but my words, they still sounded the same
when we were young
we thought we had the whole world figured out
now all we do is speak in tongues
we play a losing game
only now we hear the shouts fading out
we flew into the sun
i’m dedicated to the shadow that’s been following me
it caught me counting the cards
i guess the rules remain
oh it was heavenly then
but the devils were calling my name
is there something in your eye?
did you fall or were you just on a high?
everybody’s so afraid they could die
but they never once said
thank god we’re alive

Lost my brother, Josh, on the 12th of March this year. This is the only band we haven't seen together while being one of our favorite bands. I had Hereafter play last at his funeral service. This music is not as mainstream as it should be and the expressions on people's faces were something we both would have laughed at together while the service was in session. Thank you Architects for being an inspiration, promoting reassurance/self-progression speaking on all levels of struggle/corruption. Can't wait to mosh with you. 🤘 RIP Josh Lawless. Edit: I'd like to sincerely thank everyone for their kind words and condolences. Was not expecting this many people to respond. I love you all so much🖤💛🖤

I noticed that this video is visually pleasing and balanced because the vocalist continuously turns facing the camera even when the rest of the band don't. Interesting.

I was just released from the hospital after struggling for 22 days from a stage 5 liver laceration (20% survival rate) I spent the whole time just being grateful to have survived. I was so happy to get released but I still have a long road ahead. This release has really helped lift my spirit, I wasn't able to listen to any music in the hospital so this is truly a gift on the day of my release.

Good to see the drummer be more transparent about his playing

man i fucking love this band.

i remember Rise Against had a song named 'Architects', with the line 'and don't you remember when we were young?".
it might just be a coincidence, but on the b-side of Daybreaker Architects named a song 'Rise Against', so... who knows? new track is awesome either way.

The breakdown, that doesn’t really breakdown is the coolest thing I’ve heard in forever. What a banger.

The punk influence coming through heavy in those verses. This is sick.

I LOVE how simple this video is. The smooth rotating camera is so hypnotic it feels like a real show and because of that, there is nowhere to hide. I see everything you guys are doing and it's a great watch to go with the song.

Architects are one of the few bands that never left the f**king pocket. They've been in a permanent groove and done both the heavy and melodic masterfully.

Not gonna lie, the two step stomp Sam does at the beginning was epically on tempo. The exact time as the snare hits 2x in a row

Im 50yrs old and what I enjoy is the lyrical content. Music that has meaning, has a reason and purpose with graet music to back it up.

Just heard the song on FH5, such a banger. Haven't listened to Architects since I was in middle school lol.

WELL DAMN! This seems like the right mix between their newer and past post hardcore style. LOOVE THE ENERGY!

Josh is one of the true riff masters of current metal. He really knows how to mix 80s & 90s metal with modern metal very well. Whether its Architects or Sylosis he absolutely demolishes.

The vocals with that tiny pinch of Rou Reynolds style is beautiful
Architects delivering pure gold once again
