I 'saved' an armadillo this morning 😅

Saw this guy kicking around a little trapped on his back in the concrete drainage next to the curb when i drove past on my way to work and thankfully saw no sign of blood or guts. So I popped a u-turn in hopes that he simply had a big dinner the night before and had gotten trapped turtle-style on his back like we all have at some point in our lives. His tummy was getting a pink sunburn and I thought that dying on your back in the hot sun is a horrible way to die, so I had to do the little guy a solid and get him righted so he could try to go find him a possum wife!

mouth-to-mouth resuscitation and then asked him if he wants to come over for dinner and a glass of wine.

To everyone saying I should have done more to help, realize you are suggesting that I pick up an injured animal that has sharp teeth and claws and can also carry parasites or diseases... so touching it without gloves is just about the dumbest thing you could do. I was genuinely trying to give the animal at least a fighting chance at life when hundreds of other people just watched him on his back kicking his feet and kept on driving by. But I didnt. I stopped and did as much as I could with the resources I had at my disposal... and I tried ti help. Which is more than any of you keyboard warriors will ever do.

For those wondering, armadillos only have about a 20% chance of having leprosy, and the chance of getting leprosy just from pushing it over with your shoe, is slim to none, you would have to handle it quite extensively, or eat it

He could have been stunned or shocked from an actual car accident… you definitely didn’t help by just flipping him over

I’m glad that you use your shoes to flipped them over but not your Bare Hands, cuz it’s a Nine Banded Armadillo and they carry Leprosy disease.(They’re not safe to touch)😮
