Nice job with rebuilding the clutch pack and basket - what a world of difference. Unfortunately it may all be for nothing if the slave cylinder and seal from the other end isn't properly cleaned and rebuilt also. It sucks having to pull the other end apart but it's much better to do it now while the rest of it's already apart then to do it twice. This reminds me of having to rebuild the clutch basket on my '87 Suzuki Savage 650 last year. The clutch was horrible and was almost non-existent due to so much play in the clutch. I had ordered all new friction and steel discs before hand along with every possible spring, washer, nut, etc. It was such a good thing I did because upon pulling the whole thing apart, I discovered that there were supposed to be two trust (flat) washers - one in the back and another in the front and similarly to yours, one washer was thick and the other was thin. Well it turned out whoever did the clutch previously left one of the two washers out completely and there was a note in the factory manual specifically mentioning to make sure both washers are present otherwise there won't be enough tension and too much clearance (which was half of the problem). The other half of the problem was the old clutch friction discs completely lost their "friction" and all the friction and steel discs were completely stuck together as one whole solid pack like they were glued together. This was a result of them being so old and worn and the only thing to fix it was to replace them all. Afterwards, holy cow! I couldn't believe the difference in the clutch - it felt like a brand new motorcycle again! 🏍

Wich side should the convex side of the spring plate point to? To in or the outside?

Love your build, I just got my hands on a 83 Honda shadow 750c and I'm rebuilding it. How did you get oem parts? Thank you

I was wondering what the precious owner had done when they put it back together. Looked strange.

I unscrewed d7 bolts of the clutch cover, but the cover wouldn't come off, i tried using a hammer to shake it a little, didn't succeed. Any tips pls? Also, i think i need to drain engine oil first, right?
