MoneyHub's Christopher Walsh explains what you need to know about Airpoints Dollars credit cards to pick the right credit card for your needs. We look at why the banks have dropped their awards earning rates, and what this means for anyone with an existing bank-issued Airpoints credit card looking for a better deal.

Important - For anyone who is unable to pay off a monthly balance when it's due, the best credit card is no credit card at all given the high cost of interest.

Hi Chris, thanks for the video. Really great info in there. Just a couple of questions, has the law change you talked about at the very start of the video come into effect? I am all of a sudden finding more and more shops charging anywhere from an extra 1.5% to 3% for using the credit card with I find a bit interesting given that now the bank is only charging them 0.8%
Also do you know if the banks charges the shops for having pay wave? I am finding the exact same thing happening in shops but even for using paywave and not the credit card. Many thanks

Are you sure Amex still offer the lounge passes? For the platinum card - It’s not clear or stated on their website and they’re difficult to get hold of. Thanks. :-)
