This "right/left" talk is a good way to divide entire nations, and a nation divided is an easy target for their enemies.

“A politics to end politics” sounds to me a whole lot like one party or group of parties trying to entrench themselves permanently in power. Especially if that party is ignoring the opinions of a large(even if not a majority) amount of their citizens while touting this new political system they want. I doubt it’s malicious, they probably just think they are more responsible, but that doesn’t make it any less of a ridiculously egotistical assumption to make.

I blame the war in Iraq. Had the middle east not destabilized. The far right would not have had such room in Europe.

The far right exists in a bigger form in places like India and Brazil. This isn’t just an EU issue. EU politicians were elected. This video mentions the socialists - if other political traditions are to win power, they need to make better arguments, not expect the “centrists” to change once elected.

Is he implying that a left-leaning populist is the right answer? I am not so sure of that.

The EU feels so awful. I'm not saying that it is but to me and many others it just feels so useless, opressive, bureaucratic and far away. On paper, the EU should be a great concept and I'd really like to support it. However, corruption, a lack of transparency, hypocracy, indecisiveness and because of that a missing identity and missing public support turn it into a bad system. The EU has to change or otherwise it'll destroy itself. The aspect with the big political center concerns me aswell. Living in Germany, I know what happens if the two biggest center parties (the SPD and CDU) form a coalition together. Both of them lost huge ammounts of their public support or rather faith in them and politics didn't change at all. It might have become even slower. So some people started to lean towards the far right which obviously is a mistake. However, every alternative (no pun intended hehe) feels unsatisfactory aswell. When everything seems doomed people make the mistake of voting for Nazis dressed as conservatives. We have to make the people believe in the center again but honestly I'm not sure wheter it is even possible anymore with the way the internet works etc. To everyone taking the time to read this: Have a nice day!

The ending isn't right, the fact that you uploaded it means that you concur with what he said, so its its definitely a reflection of you

The elements of oversimplifications (eg BREXIT was filled with disagreement) required to come to these conclusions can not be added back to the conclusions and have the conclusions make much sense. One of the problems with nuance-stripping in order to come up with “nice conclusions” or mischaracterizarions.

"Pursuing moderation and centrism increases extremism, therefore we shouldn't pursue centrism because extremism is bad" - flawless logic, bravo

History wil repeat itself, extreme left against extreme right.
And at some point everyone wil choose a side.

No for all the above citations. Truth is: their egoism is to blame

he says it all in the end "real conflict, not democratic conflict" because he knows democracy is not real

But a neutral economy would be a good thing, no? Working together is surely progression. Shouldn't be this left wong right wing disputes.

What a conundrum. Makes sense actually, need more direct policies' attention from the EU.

Not agreeing with anyone who is far left makes them far right, we are normal people who are getting called far right for pointing out the disasters the far left are making.

How about far left-wing? like Neo-Nazis Azov battalions in Ukraine, fascist?
