Cellphone ban passed by Broward School Board

The Broward County School Board passed a cell phone ban for students on Tuesday afternoon.

This is bad, I’m not saying that phones should be used during class but at least during lunch. Some kids need to talk to their parents while others need a break. There are people who said they loved perfectly without a phone many years ago but times have changed. I feel like Broward’s priority is preventing kids from bringing weapons.

Banning Cellphone use during most of class is obvious, and should be implemented by each teacher especially since cellphones are mostly computers anyway. But During lunch is excessive. Having kids check in mid-day is essential for many parents and a break for kids especially those who aren't conventionally "social", ill, or accessing the Internet to complete assignments. Obviously non of these people have employers who ban them using phones during their lunch breaks

This is a bad policy. My kid likes to play games a TikTok on his phone during school. Now he is just going to sit there bored all day.

Wait. I’m 40 years old and it’s news to me we allowed cell phones in school classrooms. How did we become such pussys? I’ve got a kid. If I need to get a hold of them when they go to school…I was planning on calling the school

Good, I went I school K-12 in Miami we were just fine without a cell phone, ( some of my classes had a telephone)if you need to call your parents walk to the office like we did, no one ever said we couldn't call our parents.
