It's a TDI man, no need to drive such a high RPM every time, and using the clutch as a Ferrari. These old cars can go a lots of kilometers with care.

VW's *1.9TDI* is one of the best Diesel engines ever made... they could stuff this in everything from an Ibiza, Leon, A3, Fabia, Golf, all the way to a Passat, A6, Octavia, etc... great longevity too, since a lot are still around with 300.000+kms

Drops clutch for no reason every time he shifts
Revs diesel to redline, while 2000-3500 rpm gives most power and does not wear out the engine
Shifts way to quick. You have to let you gearbox do the job, not "jam" the gear in

Just because you have some "racing" gloves and 30$ watch does not mean you are a good driver. *STOP breaking cars*

Nice car and definitely a very reliable engine in it. My friend owns one (sedan version), but he chipped it and jumped from 130HP to around 170HP. Car was flying before and it is even stronger now. I drove it few times so I know.

Cheap leather gloves - check.
Using the clutch and gear lever on a ~20 year old family sedan like you are in a race car - check.
Revving the hell out of a diesel engine that was never built for this - check.
Standard douchebag driving position on hand on the top of the steering wheel and one on the gear lever, even though there is no need to change at that time - check.
Leave the Autobahn dude, come over to Easter Europe, you will fit right in.

It's actually more interesting to see top speed drives in average cars rather than exotic cars, which are already too many on YouTube.
I've done like 180 on a Honda GK5 Fit, the car handled it well but it's more scary than doing 250+ in sport cars.

This being the 6 speed gearbox model, the engine has 310 Nm. The 5 speed gearbox model has 285 Nm. Nice car and in good shape actually.
