Zercher feels different than all those lifts because you are more pitched forward. It puts you in an unadvantageous position. It's also how you would pick someone up.

Love a zercher. Great carry over to grappling just like a clean. I do think sometimes teaching a guy who’s focused on MMA or whatever how to clean properly could too much effort. Maybe I’m just dumb and it took me an unnaturally long time to learn proper form. That’s probably what it is.

zercher is much better at training you to pick someone up (gut wrench) than a clean or front squat will ever be

I wrestle and i find myself lifting people from the ground in the deep squat position very often. I've recently started doing zercher deadlifts to supplement this move and holy balls it hits different.

It seems like the zercher imitates stopping a takedown attempt or being strong in the clinche for combat athletes, but idk I really don’t like how rounded the back gets while doing it.

You can’t do a zombie squat is many situations and a clean isn’t the same consistent load… you would need to clean for cleanings sake…

I would think Atlas stones over this, though of course those can be challenging to obtain. Sandbags work well too. That’s actually what I used to do for cheer. I’d place a sandbag on the ground, and pick it up. Also did thrusters with them as well as throws and catches kinda like a med through without the wall. Kinda resembled a shitty flyer.
