Black countertops are quite annoying in my opinion. Shows all the dust and minerals stain from dried up water. Have it in my kitchen and really dislike it. Imagine the white splotches from toothpaste and things 😅

I sell real estate and I’ve gone into hundreds of homes some of them with black marble. The black marble is truly a nightmare. It shows hard water stains, rings from water glasses, soap scum and it never looks clean. On the other hand classic white marble always looks good. It can be 40 years old and still it looks good. I think the dark chestnut color stain would look classic and beautiful. ❤

My parents have a bathroom with black marble countertops…and they are THE WORST at showing dust and water marks. You may want to stick with the lighter Carrera marble for the countertops. Imho

I personally think the cabinet for the sink should stay natural, there is already a lot of high contrast in the room, it reflects the light and adds just enough warmth to the space to be cosy without being the focal point. It also creates a beautiful juxtaposition between the rooms connected that I don’t think would be achievable any darker.

Love how it’s all coming along and know it’s going to be stunning! 😍

love the natural wood vanity, brightens up the bathroom and brings more life to it. Also the grey bathtub looks great, it would be too much black if it was fully black imo

definitely white marble all around and please don't stain that beautiful cabinet so dark that it loses the grain! Otherwise everything is looking beautiful! Wall color is great and doesnt clash with the tile like others are saying. All the cool tones and tile need the warmth of the paint and a rich toned stain on the vanity!

Let me preface by saying I used to design kitchens and bathrooms and that most things are simply a matter of preference. 1) Cooler and warmer tones CAN work together. Bringing in the slightly warmer wall paint color actually works here, giving it a "lived in" feel and works well with the color of the adjoining rooms. A starker white would make it feel more modern (which is fine, if that's what's desired). 2) For the tub, if you're doing anything other than white (black, copper, platinum), it's because you want the tub to be the focus of the space. Painting the vanity black to match (although it would work) would defeat that purpose. 3) For the vanity, a stain/wash that would match the floors in the adjoining rooms would add some continuity between the spaces with a natural wood element. 4) For the countertop, I'd pick a white marble with bold grey veining (similar to the floor). For fun, I would play with the ledge next to the tub - white or black marble or even the same wood as the vanity would work! Ana, I know whatever you decide it will look fantastic!😍😘☺

On the video, the walls looks very yellow, like there is a yellow (warm undertone), whereas the floor is cool. It might just be the camera, but I think the walls are messing with your color choices for the vanity. I would paint it to match the walls so it blends in. Maybe the question is what do you want to pop? The bathtub or the vanity? Too many "look at ME's" in one tiny room can be overwhelming to the eye. The floor is busy, and it is a statement. The tub compliments the floor. The walls and the vanity have to play supporting roles. I would paint the vanity in the same shade as the walls, so it blends in...then your fixtures will totally pop! (and not fight with the floor)

Hi guys, I've been following you for a couple years and I hardly ever comment but I just wanted to say, I think black marble would be a nightmare to keep clean in a bathroom since you would see every little bit of limescale on there... But I love the light in the toilet ! Xxx from Swizerland :)

Please don't stain that cabinet!!!! That natural color is SO BEAUTIFUL and it goes perfectly with all the black and white

I feel like you have already a lot going on in that bathroom with different tiles for the shower wall, shower floor and main floor... So maybe you could try and match the cabinet, countertop and possibly bathtub color to the existing tones in the tiles

The floor is stunning, but I think the wall color fights it. Why not try a pale gray with a slightly bluish cast to it.

Creamy warm colour doesn’t match with cold bluish tiles in the shower and the floor. U need only the cold palette of colours for the room. Then natural colour of the wood would blend perfectly.
At the end as long as u r happy)

As someone who has black granite countertops, they would not be my choice. They never feel clean. I’m sure whatever you choose will be beautiful.

19:54 hi, I love timber finished, but in this case I would paint the vanity unit in the same colour as the walls and use the white marble as counter top.

I just love you guys! Your willingness to vlog the messy middle bits until you've made your final decisions is so humbling and so brave. Especially since people can be so mean in the comments. I totally would have played it safe and brought one of the wall colors from the other rooms into the bathroom and then went with all white for the tub and sink base /top so they match and don't clash with the floor or the walls. The tiles in the shower are so gorgeous, but their cool tones seem to clash a bit with the current wall color. I know you guys will sort it out and it will be stunning when you're all done, because that's what always happens. Thank you for sharing your journey and demonstrating what it means to take chances and flex your creative muscles, especially you, Philip. You definitely don't look a day over 30. 💪👏😎💖✨

since you asked, I think there is a lot going on in that bathroom, Black and white floors, painted tub, wood grain vanity, gray tiled shower, different vanity top and bath surround and then the cream walls. Wow

Black marble or granite is a nightmare. It ALWAYS looks dirty. I have lived with black granite countertops for 25 years and while I love the look, they have scratched, left rings when different cleaning bottles leaked on them, etc...

Milk wash and seal the vanity. It will take away the red/ yellow and still show the grain. Light marble top and white sinks.

Mirror lights not good, agree with Anna!
