I find it interesting that Yuji is hitting so hard right now it is comparable to Gojo's punches, in the sense that Sukuna's RCT can't keep up.

I am personally of the opinion that yuji's domain might be a old style of domain expansion one that forces rules on everyone inside but doesnt have a sure hit, like higaruma's domain.

The mercy rule would seem to support this, but its just a theory tbh. So there might be other rules in effect that yuji hasnt disclosed that make him confident in his ability to kill sukuna.

I get the impression that Hollow Wicker Basket is protecting Sukuna from nothing, and Yuji may have exchanged a sure hit for much more powerful strikes when they actually connect

Also, there seem to be living creatures in his Domain, and they aren't being attacked, so there's probably no indiscriminate AoE technique being applied like in Malevolent Shrine. The landscape is fine, too.

I think Gojo's explanation of Domain Expansion to Yuji may have influenced this domain.

Gojo told Yuji that Domains provide:
- a buff to the user due to the favourable environment
- and a sure-hit effect

So far we haven't really seen anyone have a noticeable buff inside their Domain. It appears modern sorcerers favour a stronger sure-hit technique than the environment buff

So based on what I say above, my theory is that Yuji's Domain has either a weak sure-hit or none, coupled with a super-powerful buff, and inside his Domain, he is simply strong enough to defeat Sukuna

I still believe the first meeting they had was just a barrier. As yuji said it was something he did spur of the moment. No sure hit no thing but I’m guessing it allowed for him to still touch megumin soul since it is his barrier. But once they started fighting that’s when he decided it’s game time. I still believe he didn’t put his technique in the domain since as soon as hollow wicker basket was destroyed sukuna would have or should have gotten hit by the technique. Unless yujis domain effect would have to be him physically touching you to get he effect which I doubt. And at the end idk who said “domain expansion”.

Maybe yuji's domain is supposed to make his enemies unaware of the domain while it's sure hit effect is charging up sukuna even doesn't remember how they domain closed on him

I absolutely loved hearing your theory about his domain, and I have to agree because it also helps draw extra symbolism between the two of them. One shrine is complete chaos, that you CAN escape if you’re lucky; while the other is one you can escape if you truly understand and comprehend Yuji. This might also just apply to Sukuna, just because of the particular situation, but let’s say he were to have the ability to use it back in Shibuya against Mahito or Kenjaku. That same principle could apply, “I can kill you. Surrender, return Gojo, and I’ll let you live”/ “I can kill you. Humans are not perfect, but aren’t deserving of the way you treat them. Swear in your heart that you’ll stop, that you’ll value life other than your own from this moment forward, and I’ll spare you.” He would definitely only use his domain in that style of situation, but I can’t wait to see how powerful it ends up being
