Making beads from plastic bottle (Recycling)

Hey guys, this video is little bit different than the ones before but I wanted to show you what I was doing the last period.
As days pass our planet becomes more and more polluted, so I have found a way to use my creativity in combating waste.

In this video I show you how to join this battle and learn how to make beads from plastic bottles.

I hope you like this idea and together we will recycle a lot of waste and turn it into beautiful works of art.

Please be careful and take all protective measures while working with plastic melting. Wear a suitable mask against gases and fumes, work in a well-ventilated room or outdoors. Be careful not to burn the plastic.

If you want to stay beads transparent, Ellie, you can try to put hot bead into cold water for fast cooling. With slow cooling, PET plastic has time to crystallize, and become opaque. If beads after fast cooling wiil be difficult to remove, you can heat them up again to temperature below the melting point (120-160°C), then the plastic will be softer, but not cloudy. And I think, the needle can be lubricated with thinnest layer of silicone oil (using a cloth or cotton swab) for easier bead removal from the needle. And a hot gun provides more stable temperature, than a candle, so you can get beads without bubbles inside, which can be formed from overheating, or from the moisture contained in the PET-plastic. 3D creators drys the PET-filament (in vegetable dryers, for example) for several hours before printing to eliminate bubbles.

Please make sure to wear a respirator while doing this and be in a well vertalated area because burning and melting plastic releases dangerous fumes

Making Beads is so cool & it’s beautiful.
This technique is called Lampwork when used with colored glass rods & propane torch.
The ventilation of your workspace is very important. The fumes, vapors, even when your handling the plastics hold toxins
In your video you line up your items used in the craft, please show the mask, ventilation & if you have safety glasses.
Some younger artists might not think about the safely issues.
(For themselves & others in their home)
I make glass beads with flower shapes inside each bead… it’s a magical transformation.💞

You could alternate color squares to get a marbled colored bead, a cool couple guys I think in Australia are recycling plastic, their You Tube name is Brothers Make, and they have done some brilliant ideas. THANK YOU for helping to reuse, reduce, and re cycle to help our Planet, you make a Unique Product

When backyard burning was allowed, plastic containers were never allowed because of the toxins they give off.

If you’re heating these up you need to be in a super Duper ventilated place, like next to a window that has a fan blowing OUT. Or maybe directly under the exhaust vent of a range hood with the fan turned on. Better yet, outside.

I think you should warn about doing this with a proper mask in a well ventilated area. Heated plastics produce fumes that can ruin people's lungs. As an asthmatic I would never attempt this.

I have been collecting bottles for years using them when paint. But if I don't paint too often my over grown collection of bottles goes out to the dump, which defeats my purpose of saving them from landfills. Never thought about turning them in to a piece of jewelry, and I do Viking knite, these would he perfect to weave into a wire piece. So brilliant! I must try!

Your process is well explained from the cutting of the plastic through finishing the earrings.
