I started golfing this year and I grabbed this set in the “long” version. Honestly it was the best purchase I’ve ever made. It confirmed my love for golf and now obsession. I’ve since upgraded my driver and putter and hybrid. I still game all the irons and love them. Great intro purchase.

Bought these in the platinum three weeks ago and have walked the course everyday after work and weekends getting a cart day in. I am super happy that I was able to find a box set with a long option for my size (6’4).

I agree The driver is very “Whippy” for me but when I slow down it performs well and gives me almost the same distance as my old but pristine Tour Edge bazooka 9 degree stiff shaft driver. I seem to like 270cc heads over 460 after using that for the past 6 months.

Irons, 5w, hybrid, PW and SW are money. I’ve had to club down a lot. I’ve consistently hit about 125-135 with the PW. Think I’ll add an approach wedge because sometimes I need a lil more than the SW can offer ( as I improve I think I’ll be able to adjust power)

As you can probably tell, I’m thoroughly satisfied with the purchase and if anyone is new like me it’s a great starter set especially because of the “customizable” option.

The box set roundup is a good idea. What would be nice is to know what sets would be right for what kind of person. I unfortunately seem to think that sometimes the sets are made for a certain subset of new golfer and not for others interested in starting the game. My son, for example, is a relative newcomer to golf but he is also 24 years old, 6'2 and 220 lbs. He played baseball through college and swing speed is not a problem for him. Frankly speaking, many of these box sets probably wouldn't be for him since he has such a high swing speed. But like most newer golfers he has problems with striking the ball consistently. I'm not sure there is a box set out now that would be suited for him. A forgiving club with a standard loft and a stiffer shaft would be best for him which I don't think is currently made. That leaves a custom setup for him which means a lot more money than he probably would want to spend at this point. I think the younger, athletic player is something that these companies should look for. It may cost a bit more but it probably would sell better.

A very fair try out on the wilson set, bought same set myself and driver, 3 wood are fair but irons are good when gotten used to. In the hands of a good player they'd pose no problemas here.. A budget set and probably the best in the category. The most expensive wilson would be very good. Great review and enjoyable.

These are literally the clubs I’m getting ready to buy with my paycheck tonight. My first purchased set lol. My old one was given to me by a buddy, but I’m 6’5”. I’m buying the Tall set which I looked and it says it adds 1” so I feel that will be enough.

Can't wait to see the box set comparison. I started playing again after over a decade break and bought the Costco callaway set, KS1 and Kirkland wedges. I've only been to the range a few times and tried the new callaways vs my old Adams GT2 set I bought about 20 years ago

I bought a set of Wilson's Hyperspeed mens set I bought from Academy. I used gift cards earned at work. They retailed for just under $400. They were on sale for $250. When the assistant manager scanned the tag they rung up at $30. She said it was a king day and she wasn't going to question the computer.

Out of $250 worth of gift cards I spent $30. Woth more than enough for balls, glove, toes and other accessories on the next trip to Academy.

Yes. They are a very good set.

Anotjer thing, this guys gives them a 3 out of 5. Why so low? He doesn't want to admit they better because it doesn't justify him spending $2500 on a set of custom clubs when he can beat his buddy with a $400 set.

Good set. Driver head came off after a couple months. Everything thing else holds up great. I can’t be to surprised with the driver breaking considering the price but irons and hybrid and 3 wood r great

These got me back into golf. Bought a set of them never hit for £100 secondhand. Didn’t keep them for long but haven’t stopped playing golf since. The driver is mad 😂😂😂

Wilson are a really safe buy in the cheap package set market. You get their R&D experience from more expensive clubs even if these materials are a little cheap.

For a newbie who wants to try the game, or if you just don't have a lot of cash right now, this is a great plug 'n play gateway into this incredible game.

I agree that walking is the best way to play golf. You learn so much in the last 20 yards walking to the ball. I don't feel that when riding a cart.

Gabe, probably not the best boxed set you have used but for a beginner at that price, a good set to use. Your test of all the boxed sets with the price paid for them will be worth watching. Still raining here in Thailand by the way. Take care mate.
