Ed compares AtticFoil® radiant barrier and Reflectix® side by side. The weight, durability and strength and the cost easily put AtticFoil in a category all its own; there is no question about it: AtticFoil is the best radiant barrier foil you can buy.

I just wanted to let you know *this* was the video that made me decide to buy your product.

Ed, I normally do not comment on videos. I laughed when you were trying to tear the Attic Foil product compared to how easy the Reflectix tore. You are a big guy and the strain was hilarious. I am sold on your product. Of all the videos, this one did it. Pulling the staple out of the 2x4 (with Attic Foil) and the strength against tearing while positioning in attic, shows the benefits of your product. I know that an attic is one of the hardest places to move around in... especially when it is already insulated. Having product tear would be very frustrating. I am looking forward to trying out your product. Thanks for the great videos... especially this one.

Energy Star has made a lot of changes to their certification process. Currently NO radiant barrier products can claim they are "Energy Star" products. They are in the process of changing all of their methods/standards for insulation materials. We have a complete page on the Energy Star info at AtticFoil(dot)com

Wished I saw this video before foaming regular aluminum foil all over my attic :D This product has been out since 2013 but still sounds golden.

The Reflectix that Im familiar with looks like bubble wrap sandwiched between two sheets of foil. It works wonders. This must be a different product.

Y'all's videos are excellent... I've learned so much. Over the years some of the insulation has come loose or torn away from the ductwork in my attic. Can I use your product to repair/wrap the ductwork in my attic?

He's too professional to say it, but here's the translation: Reflectix is absolute shit. And he's right. I used it on my old house before I discovered Attic Foil. Reflectix tears apart fast, especially if you're doing an installation on your own and/or for the first time and/or in confined spaces (In other words, under almost every circumstance). Attic Foil won't do that. Reflectix is absolute shit. Get Attic Foil instead.

Have had no air conditioner this summer. Windows nailed shut! Is it possible to use this material in my windows. To block heat. I am desperate!

We live in a tiny cottage with a VERY low roof, tiny attic AND METAL-FRAMED BATHROOM in the center of it. Yes, you read right; they framed the bathroom in sheet metal, the idiots. I obviously didn't know this when I moved in (and the landlord sure as hell didn't tell me). You can just imagine - it is HELL in the summer.

So I crawled on my belly and stuffed R38 denim in the attic. It helped. Needed more help.
I put Attic Foil OVER the denim. That helped more. Needed more help.
I cut a hole in the roof and stuck a Whirlybird in there. It helped. Needed more help.

I finally got up on the roof and covered the whole darn thing with Attic Foil. Yes, the OUTSIDE of the roof. I slapped it on with lines of black adhesive (like liquid nails). I bet NASA can see us from space.

WORKS LIKE A CHARM. We FINALLY have relief and the heaters and AC barely come on. The Attic Foil survived torrential downpours and wind gusts too. I plan on using this stuff in RV builds as well. And no, not getting paid or endorsed to say any of this.

I am interested in using this product in my garage here in Michigan. Do I also need insulation? Would it be valuable to put foam board to get some r-value on first and then the foil or vice versa?

Would it be okay to install the radiant barrier under your shingles rather than installing in the attic?
