Good stuff... you got it covered pretty well but 2 more culprits can be winsock stack which shows connectivity but wont allow browsing or file xfers and is a lot of times not fixed by rollback or removing and reinstalling drivers (fixed with: netsh winsock reset - from an admin prompt) and the firewall rules themselves, which mean temporarily disabling to confirm before fishing out the problem rule.

I do alot of downloading mainly video files, I used a third party downloader with no problems like this until the downloader program was changed by the makers, and now have to use the default method and this problem has shown itself to be a nightmare, lets hope these settings changes can resolve the issue

Sometimes we can get too "over tech" in our thinking with this stuff. I had the same problem - my target drive was filled to the max already. When I dumped all those files onto an external drive, the problem disappeared.

Tried all of these and not one helped. What I don't get, is if I use, say a youtube video downloader where i paste the video link, say this video, it will download in less then a minute fine...but if I use the browsers downloader it says "Failed - Network Error" after like 1.5 minutes. What's weird is I downloaded a 55 minute game video from youtube that was like 850mb and it was at 720p in less then 2 minutes, but say I try to download anything through the browsers downloader or manager even a video that's 156mb and 360p, it just doesn't work?

None of these worked :( Still failed network error. I had the uploaded take down and reupoad the file so its not a corrupt file or anything since the owner is capable of downloading and reuploading. Its a video file thats still very viewable from drive but not downloadable :(

Mine only seems to say failed network error on files over 30gbs, any ideas why that could be?

I had some issues a while ago fixed it by setting a dns in router windows and browser as well ( good experiences with cloudflare ) maybe overkilled but no problems since... another thing is a bit for nerds (like us 🤣), I use a docker container on my raspberry pi, just paste the download link in and it download it to my raspberry pi (= my NAS)
