Fun fact: Despite having the world’s sixth largest GDP, one fifth of the UK’s population is in poverty. What a great, well managed country run by a very competent and not corrupt party you guys got there.

As an American, most of my friends and I live in this weird state where we would really like to live somewhere else, but it's also *just* easy enough to stay and *just* hard enough to leave that none of us have made specific plans.

This video came out at an ironic time. I'm British but moved to New Zealand over a decade ago, right now I'm visiting my grandparents in England and holy shit this country sucks. It's freezing and any shopping I do is outrageously expensive and the English accent is very silly and gives me whiplash every time someone speaks. But the public transport is good (it exists for a start) and I bought a pack of mini meringues for a pound so that was cool.

1:00 as someone who lives in australia, it just boggles my mind to see public transport tickets like this, when there is a literal maximum price of $17.80 per day no matter how long you stay on the buses and trains

Im so glad we left the EU, now we dont have to worry about the EU doing [PLACEHOLDER] and stopping us from [PLACEHOLDER], when all we get in return is a more stable economy, a massive market for trade and easy movement of citizens between countries which is excellent for promoting diversity and allowing people to experience more than just their own country without much hassle

0:23 When you posted this video clip for the sneeze audio, I joked that this is how I’d die in the Hunger Games. Turns out… yeah, that’s exactly what the joke was. Neat

Uk the kind of country where when people say "trans rights are human rights" they remove human rights to save doing anything about it lmao

I've learned recently that in terms of geological wealth distribution, England has two distinct areas:
1. The barren WASTELAND
2. London.
Those are the two options.

As an American, I feel like you hold some dislike for my country.

Fair enough.

As a trans person it is so easy to live in Britain I definitely don't want to unalive myself 24/7 and definitely don't have to deal with everyone in positions of power trying to make sure I can't exsist and definitely don't have any problems getting access to the LIFE SAVING HRT THAT I DESPERATELY NEED TO ACTUALLY FEEL LIKE MYSELF AT ALL 💖🏳️‍⚧️💖

I have been living in the UK for over 3 years. Every time I tell someone I'm from Norway, they are like "Why would you move here?" lol

"I hear you're planning to move onto a boat." Owie nods. "What's like like in the UK?" "Can't complain". "Don't you have a good job here?" "Can't complain." "Don't you have enough to eat?" "Can't complain." "Don't you feel well-represented & not oppressed?" "Can't complain." "Then why are you moving?" "Because on a boat, I *CAN* complain!"

I see America getting a lot of hate in this comment section and I’d like to throw my hat in the ring. See I was born and raised in America, and I am so glad I am in one of the parts of America that *isn’t* a hellhole (New England-ish region.) Yeah we have some problems of course, but our state (and some local) governments are quite progressive and inclusive compared to the rest of the country, especially in terms of gay rights, wages, and education. “Racialism” is also not as prevalent in my area. There is hope… IN THIS AREA…

The way I see the cycle: Europeans are glad they aren’t British, British people are glad they aren’t American, (northern) Americans are happy they aren’t from the southern states, Southerners are happy they aren’t from Alabama, and Alabamans are happy they aren’t from… the swamps…

On second thought, any extra tickets on that ferry?
