Great review and good to see this one. I have three similar Helis - E120x2 and orange C186 (no optical flow) and although they help themselves to fly quite a lot you do still have to fly them yourself as they are not as refined as a drone. This gives you the chance to get on with the business of flying rather than fighting the aircraft. Now I know purists will still prefer to learn the hard way and they will build skills that way and be able to eventually do stunts, 3D etc, and that is fine if that is your direction. But for me, just wanting to fly a heli simply and cheaply these are the perfect solution and without them I would never have bothered with helis. I really don't need to do anything more myself in the world of helis. So it is horses for courses, and that is what is great about the hobby giving so much choice now. If it's not for you fine, and if it is for you have fun. That's what all hobbies are ultimately about.

When I started flying helis in 2012 the OG heli pilots gave me flack because my heli was flybarless with a gyro instead of flybar. Having flown both flybarless/flybar I see why they said that and now I watch these helis take off and fly on their own more akin to quads I totally get them now. The pain you have to go through flying, crashing, repairing, dreaming about, then fly again and repeat really helps you concentrate on what's wrong so you can fly better. I remember just taking off seemed impossible. You then learn that as soon as you start spooling up you are flying but on the ground. Learning how to adjust the ground effects develops super subtle stick control. This helps enormously for landings. Crash landings are costly in time and money for helis. For FPV quads you hover a foot or three above ground and kill motors. No harm done. Helis need to be true. Plus it's really fun to land just like a plane is fun; sometimes more fun than flying. This heli looks great for indoors and calm evenings outside. Thanks for flying and reviewing helis Brian. I love all flying robots that are peaceful. . .

I think it's a great little toy that I see would be hard to destroy. That being said, I think it's a great gift for a child to play around with, and not worry about being broken on it's first flight.
Thanks for sharing. 👍👍👍

I'm glad it has gyroscope calibration to fix the drifting issue. I can't wait to play with this thing :)

Jeesh, Brian! Sneaking in another weed whacker video ( 3:33 ) ?!?
Cool little heli! Thanks!
Great job, Camera Crew! I'm sure BP can patch up all of the holes in the drywall from this thing, and make it look like new... almost. Not really 😂
👍

I would recommend BO105 model (C186) from the same company over this one for beginners.
the battery is easier to install and remove, and the outer shell is made of tougher material, that can take some beating.
mechanically, they are pretty much the same helicopters. I believe the name of the manufacture is YuXiang, but they use several brand names including
"RC ERA" "FliteZone" "G-Force" "Modstar" "Eachine" etc.

Hello dear friend, I couldn't resist the temptations any longer so today I ordered such a helicopter.
Hope it lives up to the expectations as advertised and as you show us all. God help me if I have done something wrong. Total price 873, - NOK.

The tilt when hovering is normal for helicopters. full sized helicopters do it too. Its how they compensate for translating tendency.

Yum, forget the Crappy Chopper, Look at that Lawn already, need a couple of Flags to chip at. Grass always grows toward the sun. Dig out a bunker, fill it up with quicksand while Your at it Ace!

I have found that 5 pence or something similar weight, taped to the nose is a bit of a help with the Centre of Gravity, I use double sided tape to seal the battery bay, then add coin to help with centre of gravity, them a strip of tape. Still prefer the Eachine E-129, can buy with 3 cells.

That's funny because I worked on EC-135 when I was in the USAF...but they weren't helicopters

I have this model; just a heads up, if anyone buys this heli, be mindful that the heli can drop out of the sky if you are holding down on the throttle stick without any other stick input. I believe the heli senses that it has landed and shuts off the motors while still airborne.

This looks like the same basic system as the Eachine E120 that I have. Mine always defaults to mode 1 (right hand throttle) but if you need to swap, just hold the auto take off & land button down whilst powering on the transmitter. You will have to do this EVERY time you power on, but you’ll get used to it! You’ll know which mode you’re in when you try to arm the system with the throttle up down process😊
