Hard to believe that Sinner turned a H2H of 0-6 into 8-7 in just over a year

Medvedev really played a great game but Sinner is playing at an orherworldly level at the moment. I hope to see Sinner vs Zverev at some point in this tournament, they're both playing at such a high level now.

It seems that Sinner doesnt feel pressure being number one of world, no pressure no problem. Special person, not only player. Greetings from Rome Italy

After RF I naturally lost a bit of interest in tennis as nothing was and still is as beautiful as his, and consumed it intensely for over two decades. But now with Sinner, and having a rival like Alcaraz, I'm getting pulled back in fast!

Sinner is like a surgeon: very systematic, precise and cutting. He plays each point with a purpose and the foot work is practical.

Sinner actually made a grunt on a hit. I don't think I've ever heard him make a grunt after hitting! The silent assassin.

De Minaur is a pleasure to watch with his variety but he's just a little outgunned in this group. Daniil played a great 2nd set for someone with nothing to gain and more than ready to go on vacation!

It's crazy to think that just a year ago we were far from imagining that Sinner would be so incredible, that he would win 2 Grand Slams and that he would become world number 1!

Sinner will likely remain # 1 for a very long time to come.

He just doesn't make mistakes! You know the ball is coming back no matter what! And he is fit af!

Although De Minaur's diversity makes him entertaining to watch, he is slightly outperformed in this category. For someone who had nothing to gain and was eager to take a holiday, Daniil played an excellent second set!

Sinner on another level right now. Unless he gets injured, he should win atp finals

Medevedev has to go back to how he was playing early in that Australian Open final vs Sinner to have any chance of beating him. He's playing way too passively.

Sinner is an inhuman machine now like Djokovic in prime. He is unbeatable, endless energy and stamina.

Daniil played well but Sinner is just unplayable when he's like this

Wait, why are so many people taking for granted Alcaraz is qualifying? What did I miss? It is actually quite unlikely that he'll go through.

Daniil simply cannot play offensive tennis. It’s out of his character and skin. The unforced errors count screams inconsistency and unclutchness. Sinner didn’t have to do much and go inventive about his game, just to make the ball over the net for Daniil to do the job eventually. He has to find the right balance between his true self and to make the corresponding adjustments to stay competitive with Carlos and Yannik, who are pretty much the only guys forcing Daniil to go for those drastic changes in his game. He has to figure things out. The silver lining for Daniil would be his serve today, where he at least didn’t make any double faults since forever!

The highlights make it look close - but the match stats show Jannik won the points count 57%/43%. That's actually quite a bruising he gave Meddy
