New Edition is hands down, don't have to think about it, my favorite group on the planet. Break them up and the still hit hard. Great reaction.

Ralph was my go-to if I couldn’t hear MJ 😎

Great blending of the the three leads at the time. Ralph's soft tenor, Johnny's soft adlib, and Ricky's smooth gliding as he co-leads with Ralph was the best example of using the two primary leads up to Still in Love.

This song was my "killing me softly" song. It came out in 1988 during my freshman year in college. My girl was a senior in high school and I was 2 hrs away from home with no car, no money. When I was riding home with my dad for fall break I was listening to this thinking about my girl!!!!❤

Yes indeed. This song has the highest ratio of best New Edition amazingness to most people don’t even knowness. Such a sleeper song. Ralph at his best. (Not sure I ever heard I him do so many ranges in another song). Ricky showing why he’s the glue. Johnny being Johnny. And the whole feels of it. I love love love this song. Just perfect.

That song is low key one of the best in their catalog and I don’t believe it was released as a single. NE4Life

I'm Comin' Home is a song recorded for New Edition's 1988 album: NE Heart Break. It wasn't released as a single. It was written and produced by Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis. Ralph Tresvant and Ricky Bell on lead vocals. Johnny Gill sings the bridge near the end of the song. It is the second to last song on NE's Heart Break album and one of the most popular songs on the album.

Lyrics 🗒:

Save tomorrow for me
I'm comin' home to you
Oh girl my baby

I just called you up
Because you've been on my mind
So I can tell you what I feel
Ooh I'm missing you
I've been away too long
Now I'm coming home to you
It's been hard for me
To fall asleep at night--my love
Because without you
I feel so--alone
So I'm coming home

Save tomorrow for me
I'm comin' home to you
Oh girl my baby
Save tomorrow for me
I'm coming home to you
Oh girl my baby

Since the day I left
And you went on your own way
My life's just not the same
Ooh baby I'm needing you
And longing for your touch
Can I get a message through

I can hardly wait
To hold you in my arms
Oh girl
So don't be busy
Cancel everything
'Cause I'm
Cause tomorrow's my day

Save tomorrow for me (aw baby)
I'm comin' home to you (and I want it all)
Oh girl my baby (my baby)
Save tomorrow for me (aw baby)
I'm coming home to you (girl, I'm comin' home)
Oh girl my baby (my baby)

Save tomorrow for me (missing you....needing you)
I'm comin' home to you (wanting you...each and every minute of the day)
Oh girl my baby (yeah)
Save tomorrow for me (I know you know Sugar, I know you know)
I'm coming home to you (I'm comin' home to you)
Oh girl my baby

Away too long
Missing you so I'm comin' home
Save me tomorrow
Away too long
Missing you so I'm comin' home
Save me tomorrow
(*Repeat Bridge)

Save tomorrow
Baby save tomorrow 'cause I'm comin home
Because without you I feel so alone
Since the day I left
I was needing you
Now I'm comin' home
My baby to you
Can I get a message through
Because I'm comin' home
Home home home home
Home
I love you, I love you too

New Edition Info 📰:

New Edition is a R&B group from the Roxbury neighborhood of Boston, Massachusetts, formed in 1978 by Bobby Brown. Their name is taken to mean a 'new edition' of the Jackson 5. The group reached its height of popularity in the 1980s and are considered the "blueprint" for what would become the "modern boy band". The lineup originally consisted of Ricky Bell, Michael Bivins, Bobby Brown, Ronnie DeVoe and Ralph Tresvant. New Edition has sold over 20 million records worldwide. The group has released 7 studio albums, 1 holiday album, 8 compilation albums and 29 singles.

New Edition scored its big break in 1982, performing at the local Hollywood Talent Night held at Boston's Strand Theatre by singer/producer Maurice Starr. The first prize was $500 and a recording contract. Although the group came in second place, an impressed Maurice Starr decided to bring the group to his studio the following day to record what would become their debut album: Candy Girl. Released in 1983 on Streetwise Records, the album featured the hits: "Is This the End", "Popcorn Love", and the title track, which went to number one on both the American R&B singles chart and the UK singles chart.

Returning from their first major concert tour, the boys were dropped off back at their homes in the projects and were given a check in the amount of $1.87 apiece for their efforts. Tour budget and expenses were given as the explanation as to why they were not paid more. Due to these financial reasons, New Edition parted company with Maurice Starr in 1984. Brooke Payne, the group's choreographer and Ronnie's uncle, was managing the group at the time. Brooke Payne would be fired after the tour, then later rehired as the group's choreographer at MCA Records.

In 1984 New Edition would then move on to MCA Records where they would record 6 albums: New Edition (1984), All For Love (1985), Christmas All Over The World (1985), Under The Blue Moon (1986), Heart Break (1988) and Home Again (1996). In 1985 the group would participate in the White House's anti-drug project: "Stop The Madness", appearing on the song and in the music video along with Whitney Houston, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Herb Alpert, Kim Fields, Nancy Reagan, LaToya Jackson and more. In 1986 New Edition would participate in the King Holiday musical project along with Whitney Houston, El DeBarge, Stacy Lattisaw, Run DMC, Whodini, Full Force, Lisa Lisa and more recording a song and music video celebrating the first MLK King Holiday in America.

Bobby Brown was kicked out of the group in late 1985 due to unruly behavior. He then began his journey on what would become a very successful solo career. New Edition continued on as a quartet before adding Johnny Gill to the lineup in 1987. In 1990, both Johnny Gill and Ralph Tresvant released their own solo albums, while the remaining three members formed the trio Bell Biv DeVoe which all had platinum record sales success outside of New Edition. Michael Bivins would go on to start Biv 10 Records under Motown and discover the R&B group Boyz II Men and kid's group Another Bad Creation.

New Edition, all six members, reunited in 1996 to record the group's sixth studio album: Home Again. During the ill-fated Home Again Tour, both Bobby Brown and Michael Bivins quit the tour amid growing tensions within the group, forcing the remaining four members to finish out the tour, for which the group was sued.

In the fall of 2004, New Edition's seventh studio album and Bad Boy Records debut: One Love, was released. New Edition and Bad Boy Records didn't see eye to eye during the recording or promotion of the album and only one single was released before New Edition got out of their contract with Bad Boy Records.

Various New Edition reunions have occurred since then, usually with the 1987–1990 group lineup, though occasionally also including Bobby Brown.

On August 26, 2006, New Edition, including Bobby Brown, filmed a concert at the University of South Carolina's Koger Center in Columbia set for a future DVD release, the concert was billed as "Spend The Night With New Edition", a BET special presented by Lincoln with whom the group has appeared in various media advertisements.

In 2009, Life After produced an episode on Bell Biv DeVoe.

In 2009, VH-1's series Behind The Music produced an episode on Bobby Brown.

In 2013, TV One produce an Unsung episode on Johnny Gill.

On January 24, 2017 a three-part docuseries: The New Edition Story, premiered on BET about the group's career and personal life. The Bobby Brown Story on BET followed in 2018.

New Edition performed a medley of their hits alongside New Kids On The Block called "The Battle Of Boston" at the 2021 American Music Awards, marking their first performance at the award show since 1997. NKOTB kicked off by singing: "You Got It (The Right Stuff)". New Edition then took the stage to sing: "Candy Girl". The two groups then took turns on the stage with NKOTB singing hits including: "Step By Step" & "Hangin' Tough". New Edition performed the songs: "Mr Telephone Man" & "Can You Stand The Rain". Then both Ralph Tresvant & Joey McIntyer took turns singing lines from the songs: "Is This The End" & "Please Don't Go Girl". New Edition then sang: "If This Isn't Love", while NKOTB joined them for a dance routine involving both bands.

On December 31, 2022, New Edition performed on Dick Clark’s New Year's Rocking Eve with Ryan Seacrest. All six members were in attendance and performed various songs from both their group and solo careers.

New Edition, all six group members, just finished up touring across America on their "2023 Legacy Tour" with Guy, Tank and Keith Sweat. They are still out performing live on stage in various group forms including: BBD, Johnny Gill, Bobby Brown, Ralph Tresvant and even as New Edition this Summer, Winter and Fall.

Michael Bivins released his life documentary: The Hustle Of @617MikeBiv, in August 2023. It details the life of Michael Lamont Bivins. A kid from Roxbury's Orchard Park Projects who dreamed of playing in the NBA, but rose to popularity when he joined the legendary singing group New Edition.

On November 3, 2023, New Edition performed a Spinners tribute at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction of the group. New Edition performed The Spinners' songs: Rubberband Man, Could It Be I'm Falling in Love and I'll Be Around, at the Barclays Center.

On November 24, 2023, New Edition was inducted into the R&B Hall of Fame.

In 2024, New Edition completed a successful Las Vegas residency at the Encore At Wynn Las Vegas hotel from February 28 through March 9. Another residency will begin in July at the same venue.

In 2024, New Edition as a group and in its other manifestations (BBD, Bobby Brown, Johnny Gill, Ralph Tresvant) continues to perform live on stage. Brooke Payne has remained the group's choreographer throughout the years and has managed the group for well over a decade as well.
