This could have been a top 20 list. One dark cutaway that should have been number one because it involves Peter asking Lois about using a certain sharp object on his certain body part, only to have Meg give him an answer.

Seth MacFarlane is a genius. He makes ridiculously poignant statements through animated characters.
The result is that you can't blame any person in particular for the backlash.
It's a cartoon, and the cartoon character that said the thing you have problem with... is not a real person.

It is REALLY hard to not laugh at some of these. Sure, serious issues shouldn't be taken lightly, but these are fiction and should only be seen as such. The cancer scene, for example; my grandmother passed away a few years ago due to that, and of course that devastated me to no end. I wouldn't wish that on anyone, not even a certain dead dictator whose mustache looks like he used a toothbrush to paint it on. Did I laugh at the cancer joke though? You bet your ass I did. Would I laugh in the face of a cancer patient? Unless they were doing a joke in good humor despite their situation, I obviously would not. Still, the takeaway here is to not let fiction become reality. It's okay to laugh at comedy when its intentions are for fun, not for harm.

The only thing that made me feel bad for laughing in Family Guy was the prom night dumpster baby song though. Excellent singing and music, but man that is dark.

The woman’s voice acting in the Horton cutaway gives me literal chills. Sounds so realistic.

Inside of a huge tank, there is an aggregation of manatees who push one of millions of idea balls, each listening a noun, verb, or pop culture reference, from one side of the tank to the other. The idea balls are then put into the joke combine and form a new part of the script.
