Among all auction houses I know of, LP is the only one which actually knows a thing about what they are selling when it comes to cameras, lenses and accessories. That results in mostly correct descriptions but also somewhat realistic estimate pricing and starting bids for the gear they are offering - and less accidental bidders who stumble upon the occasional camera among all the paintings, china and jewelry shown at other auctions. As professional as LP is the bidders seem to be, resulting in generally "reasonable" pricing for auctions won, and less chance for real bargains.

I bought a Contax T2 from LP years ago. It had focusing issues when I got it. They offered to take it back, send it to repair and return it to me without extra charge
