I love that she takes pride and care in her items. It doesn’t really matter, and maybe it’s therapeutic. It also is great advice for those who only have 1 pair or really any nice heels / shoes. I appreciate the idea myself.

You'd expect for that price they would come with protection

When your shoes are so expensive you can’t ruin the soles

I like how she said she saved $20 on the 3M tape when she owns like a hundred $500 shoes 😆

“How to make an impractical pair of shoes even more impractical by making them slippery”

Since my parents didn’t have a lot of money before I was born, my dad put red stickers on my mom’s heels. She still has the “red bottoms.” I just think it’s really cute lol

“Happiness is the same price as red bottoms”
And you tell me red bottoms can be damaged just like my happiness

This is peak Asian behaviour, when you're rich enough to afford 30 Louboutins but still thrifty enough to want to save on the sole protection.

We used to scratch the bottoms on purpose so we wouldn't slip! That's why men's dress shoes are so slick!

I find it hilarious you are talking about saving money when discussing Louboutins

Wouldn't the shoes become more slippery to walk in, not safe

I wouldn’t even buy shoes I have to “protect” when I wear them. Especially the sole, like, they’re meant to be walked on.

Are you going to tell me that someone who will spend that kind of money on a pair of heels is going to DYI something to save less than $20🤣🤣🤣

I'm 45 and I've literally had the same pair of Nike shoes I got really lucky to find at a garage sale for $10 and they looked brand new. They were expensive but to have lasted me 30yrs and counting I'm happy with the one pair I own. I can't imagine how much one pair of your shoes are but they are all really pretty and I'm glad you're taking good care of them.

Great tip Racheal!
For the commentors who had asked:
There's sole protection and sole preservation. The 3m is sole preservation.
A form of protection is having a rubber Topy or Vibram done on them from a cobbler.
A lot of Louboutin heels owners get em done for grip. Not only does it protect the leather soles, it also adds very good grip, no more slipping lol
BUT with that said, Louboutin & some high end shoe designers, don't recommend you getting a Topy grip done on them, because of balance, and how the heel was originally designed to sit on ground, matching heal stub. (The Topy, Vibram rubber grips are a little thick.)

Rachel is a pro heel walker, unlike me, walking awkwardly and slipping. So she only needs the 3M covers.
Me, I get Topy rubber done on mine, cuz I need all the grip I can get 😂

For the commentors asking WHY these shoes need protection, why would it rub off, wear off so easy, why not just replace shoes etc.
not gonna even go there 😂 it's too much to explain.

Taking them to a cobbler is a much better alternative. If you do a little research on it, they put something on the bottom and it protects the varnish. I’ve heard it costs around 50 bucks and lasts the shoes a lifetime.

I really thought for that price they would give some sort of protection or even insurance 😂

Love how you’re price conscious about the cheap 3M paper even though you’ve got a WALL of Louboutins 😂

(not an insult, just a funny contrast)

I have $17k worth of shoes but $8-$12 a shoe for pre cut protectors is just crazy, here’s how to do it on the cheap…

…relatable

This is really smart and forward thinking! If a pair ever goes out of style and she holds on to them until they’re vintage, with minimal wear and protected bottoms, she could resell them for an amazing price
