Ray Dalio describes the "Holy Grail of investing" as finding 10 to 15 high-quality, uncorrelated return streams. By selecting investments that perform well independently of one another, an investor can maintain a high average return without reducing overall returns. This diversification approach can significantly reduce risk—at around 15 uncorrelated investments, it can lower risk by 80% and improve the return-to-risk ratio by five times. Dalio emphasizes that this strategy is more effective than attempting to predict individual investment winners, as markets are highly competitive and subject to unexpected changes​
