This 2005 Chris-Craft had an untimely demise from use in saltwater. Engine only had about 425 hours on it and the customer just purchased it. Unfortunatley on their second time out water was found in the oil. Engine was removed and brought to us. It locked up on us while trying to start it and diagnose it. We tore it down and found that the head gasket had failed on cylinder #1. When the head bolts were removed all of the threads came out of the block. We used the Time-Sert Kit to replace all of the bad head bolt holes. #1 cylinder also needed sleeved due to the pitting from the saltwater sitting in it. The crankshaft was straighened and machine .010/.010. Cylinder were finished @ .030. A valve job was performed, fuek injectors cleaned, manifolds disassembled, resurfaced and new riser gaskets, new impeller, tune up, filters and finally test ran in our shop. The vessel will be in freshwater now here on Lake Erie.

Love you vids as always. Especially the crysler marine overhuals. I am doing 2 360s right now but been waiting for custom rollers cams for 6 months now.

I’ve been watching your videos for two years. I am extremely impressed. I have a 1972 Coronado 454 and I’d love to put fuel injection on that motor. Would you be willing to do that job?

I dare say this is a dying art. Great video. Why wouldn't the customer add freshwater cooling having spent the money rebuilding it.

Very interesting. Care to tell us what the average cost would be to rebuild an engine?
