Does anyone know if this will boot into DOS? I have a 20 year old program that uses an RS-232 port but it only loads in DOS.

Is this like a proper old school RS323 port, with address 0X3F8 and uses IRQ 4? That would be perfect.

At the moment, I'm still trying to find the upside, as opposed to using certain legacy devices, from Fujitsu's UMPCs, and Sony Paio P Series II.

From what I've seen, I have an advantage with the legacy devices for SYSADMIN and SYSOP on RS-32. The current supposed specs might do for those who do not have other devices. But for those of us who have the legacy tech UMPCs with the extra I/O, I can't see this being an easy sell.

GPD should have just used an Ethernet jack for the com port (or even build it in to the current ethernet port).
That way you could just use a regular TP cable to program nettwork equipment, and then you could optionally use the dumb adapter for the network equipment to connect to com ports that have a dsub connecor on them.
