Considering diamonds are one of the most common gems found in this planet, they really are pointless to buy. The mines were closed off to keep the value high. So essentially buying one means you don't care about rarity. Go with a black opal, is really rare

As a woman, I don't really wether the rings are diamonds or gold or whatever. Give me a ring pop and I'll be happy

edit: But to be fr, I'll speak for most women (not all), if someone really loves you they'll marry you regardless of the ring

Diamonds are so expensive for no reason. The entire diamond suppy is controlled from no reason other than corperate greed.

Moissanite isn't lab grown Diamond... Moissanite Is whole different stone with different properties used as imitation for Diamond alongside lab grown cubic zirconia which Is also used like that.

It is different than Diamond And that Is not bad at all. But it Is unfair to call it Diamond ring.

Lab grown diamond are also made from carbon like natural ones and truly cheaper.
BUT!
Moissanite is silicone carbide, aka SiC, so its an other material, not diamond.
I don't know what you mean as "shiny" but in the gemcutter jargon its called brilliance. The moissanite has the most colorful reflections when faceted properly. An other alternative for those ladies who don't want to see rainbow colors in their engagement ring, can be white sapphire. It has no color relfections, just pure white or grayish. Thats also at around 9 hardness on the Moh's scale and lab grown is even cheaper than moissanite. The gemstone experts often saying that a lab grown gem will is never as good as natural, but in my oppinion an average person without microscope can't really tell the difference. I saw a video in which they showed bubbles in lab grown gems, but they were very small.

Just remember guys, diamond is not a rare stone. Its supply is restricted by companies like De Beers who control 80-85% of diamond mines causing prices to be high. If you want to invest in precious metals, gold is always better

till you hear this from your girlfriend: "so we will be checking if this diamond is real wirh a diamond tester".

Jeweler here. That is all true, the only thing to note is that yes they're 9.5 on the Moh's scale, but they react differently to different things when repairs have to be done. Retipping prongs is harder because only diamonds can take a direct hit with the laser and not explode.

All that to say, still go for the moissanite. I personally went for raw sapphires- stones are a lot cheaper uncut, and I really love the uniqueness and character it gives to the piece :3

Also... "Lab grown diamond, specifically a moissanite".... Moissanites are not diamonds. That's like saying "I want an Australian Shepherd, specifically a cat"

Let's not forget that the price of a ring has no effect on the length of the marriage, except for in some extreme cases that seem to indicate that a more expensive ring might mean a shorter marriage.

Having worked in the diamond and jewelry industry for years, I can vouch for the veracity of this video 💯

As a jeweler, there are a lot of different variables that go into diamonds, and yes, the total weight of the stone is a factor. But not really. A 90-point diamond that's a vvs d color vs. a 100-point SI2 G color diamond has wildly different prices. Lab created diamonds are great, but they will not hold value at all. We can get them in large quantities for very cheap. My advice is to find a local jeweler with whom you can build a relationship. Trust can only be gained by honesty and respect and transparency. Find that, and you will be surprised by the deals you can get.
