The owl is helpful. I feel more comfortable in my chest voice, which has deepened with menopause.

Exhaling in continuous breath is the next level because ALWAYS REMEMBER VOCAL SUPPORT COMES FROM THE DIAPHRAGM.

I've never had trouble going to head voice, but I recently realized I had no idea what the mechanics of the change were. I can feel things but don't know what's going on and I'm nerdy enough to wonder. I know the vocal cords have to tighten up, but it doesn’t feel like a gradual process. Usually there's a "break". Mechanically, what is that break?

😢 I’m still straining at the high notes and feel tension in my tongue and throat. Even when moving my head side to side.

It would help to know where we were on the scale.

May apologies if I'm out of order here. I know you’ve been concentrating on teaching, but I wonder if you would be willing to do this one. Paulina Villarreal (drummer for The Warning) covered Radiohead’s "Creep" for her Instagram followers at the beginning of COVID lockdown. She gave them a short list of songs she didn't know, and “Creep” was the one they picked. She spent a few hours learning it, recorded a few takes, accompanying herself on piano, and uploaded the one she liked best. Her vocals seem quite interesting, and I’m curious what you make of her performance?
Even if you don't do an analysis, treat yourself to a listen. Either way, be sure to play through the last second.
Thanks!
