Years ago I was preparing to build a log home for a client and had the blue prints spread out on my truck tailgate when to my surprise a ruff grouse walked up and jumped up on the tailgate to greet me!
Over the next few weeks she would either show up or you could actually call her! Absolutely awesome, one of my best life time experiences!

Highly unusual. Hard to believe. Perhaps it wasn't playing with a full deck (brain damage?) or someone raised it indoors as a pet or ? Either way, they are a very cool bird. The best table fare that lives in the woods (my opinion) from all the wild game that I've ever consumed ...
