Evacuation orders have again been issued on the Spanish island of La Palma after a stream of lava forged a new path toward the Atlantic Ocean, threatening towns that had so far escaped damage.

I couldn’t imagine having a house devastated by lava. You literally cannot rebuild, all of your belongings are gone forever and unsalvageable. My heart goes to those families hi have lost their homes.

I don't understand the logic of sweeping up ash. The volcano is still erupting so the ash will just quickly return on the ground.

Pyroclastic flow, mega tsunami, anything is possible with this beauty! If I lived there I would not be taking any chances regardless of what experts say! Experts have been known to be wrong, especially when it comes to volcanoes.

The silver lining is that island will be extremely rich agricultural land in the future. Volcanoes operate on geological time so 3 weeks or three years is all the same. They also emit a stupendous amount of CO2 into the atmosphere which the earth hardly needs though not as much petrochemical man’s contribution from driving 50 miles back and forth to work in a 6000 lb SUV at 10MPG
