The Mall of Asia, also known as SM Mall of Asia, is a prominent landmark located in the Philippines. Here are five interesting facts about it:

1. Huge Shopping Complex: The Mall of Asia is one of the largest shopping malls in the world. It opened its doors in 2006 and covers a sprawling area of over 42 hectares. It's a massive hub that combines shopping, dining, and entertainment all in one place.
2. Location by the Bay: It's situated in Bay City, Pasay, Philippines, near the scenic Manila Bay. This location offers visitors beautiful sunset views, making it a popular spot not just for shopping but also for enjoying the natural beauty of the area.
3. Wide Range of Attractions: Beyond just shopping, the Mall of Asia features a variety of attractions. It houses the SMX Convention Center, one of the largest private venues in the Philippines for trade events, conventions, and various large-scale national and international competitions. There’s also an IMAX theater that provides an immersive movie-watching experience, an ice skating rink, and the MOA Eye, a giant Ferris wheel.
4. Host to Major Events: The Mall of Asia Arena is a major venue for concerts, sports events, and other entertainment activities. It has a seating capacity of 15,000 and is designed with state-of-the-art technology, making it a prime venue for international tours and events.
5. Architectural Marvel: The mall’s design integrates various features that make extensive use of natural light and space, creating a pleasant shopping and leisure environment. The architecture also includes environmentally friendly practices, part of the mall's commitment to sustainability.
The Mall of Asia is not just a shopping destination but a significant cultural and entertainment hub that offers a little something for everyone. Whether you're looking to shop, dine, watch a movie, or just enjoy a day out, it provides a comprehensive and exciting experience.

For additional info:
MOA is on the top 10 largest mall in the world. MOA also has the largest IKEA store in the world. It also has its own multi function convention center for huge local and international events just next to IKEA store. MOA also has its own large Arena for local and international sporting and music events. Right now a construction of a rooftop football(soccer) stadium is on going i think its on top of one of the mall buildings. And i guess another evel of sunset viewing deck.

Nice walking tour, but you missed the world's biggest IKEA store there, and even the SM MOA Arena which is integrated and has access from the mall. Just outside still part of the complex is the Luxury Duty Free Building, the Conrad Hotel, and the Galleon Gallery.

Yes, that became Standard here in PH, security guards in all establishments as we once experienced terror attacks in the past, the Rizal Day bombing 24 years ago, a simultaneous bombing in the Metro, at the LRT, at the Mall, near the US Embassy, at the bus on traffic, almost exploded at the airport and outside of the hotel luckily it was detonated. So better safe than sorry as they say.
