Want to find all my song tutorials that feature barre chords, open chords, riffs or solos more easily?
The new filter is called Skill, where you can filter by; Barre chords, Open Chords, Power chords, Riffs & Solos, and it's FREE!!
Have a play and let me know what you think! Hope it helps! :D

I found the F barre chord fairly easy, it's the B chord that frightens me!

I laugh hysterically every time you tell me to mute the top cord with my thumb. Ya'll have got some freaky thumbs!! Mine just will not mute the top cord no matter how many times you tell me to, lol. It just gets played or it doesn't, lol. Thank you for another great lesson!! this has made my day brighter.

Thank you, I'm gonna practice these songs now!
Another great song with the F barre chord is Rooster by Alice in chains, it's really fun to play (full barre chord-lifting your index finger-slide-repeat) and you don't have to hold this chord the whole time perfectly😁

If you want to learn those chords, learn "Annie's Song" by John Denver. I play the small versions in the first verse, and the full ones in the second. By the time you lean this one, you will know the barred F, G (4 and 6 string versions) and C (the dread barred B shape, 4 & 5 string versions, moved a half step); and you will know a song that will get you laid.

Don't worry, once you master this chord the B chord is waiting for you 😭

Like a Hurricane by Neil Young and State of Love and Trust by Pearl Jam are the songs that helped me most. These are some cracking suggestions, though. Wish this lesson had been out a few years ago.
My top tip for barre chords is to persevere. Don't put off practicing them.

The transition is the tough part for me, just a case of repetition i guess. Whistle for the choir the fratellis is a good barre chord song im trying out thats helping a little

"Yeserday, " was the one that made me go there, and unlocked it for me. The version of the music I had was, I think, the piano version in F, with the chords above the notation. It showed tab for the 4 string barre version of the F and the 4 string Bb. After that I realized that I could move those 4 string shapes easily enough. A lot of songs use C, F, and G in some combo. I found that it was so much easier to play those if I used this version of the F & G, and then move to the 4 string barred C (rooted on the G at the 5th fret ), which is the 4 sting cheat shape for the equally dreaded 5 string B barre chord. These 4 string versions are also a bit softer and quieter, and fit better in a lot of love songs. I find it a lot easier to move between different barre shapes, than to go back and forth between barred and open chord shapes. I just grip the neck a little differently for barre chords, mostly wrist shape and thumb placement, so there are fewer moving parts if i just keep that barre grip once I'm there.
I fairly effectively avoided the F and B chords until I wanted to play Grateful Dead songs. Jerry loved his F& B chords!

I can't stop watching this channel but my therapist said not to see you no more. She said you're like a disease without any cure. She said I'm so obsessed that I'm becoming a bore. Oh no.
