This was fun to make. I hardly ever see these details ever talked about and thought I’d make a video sharing them. Let me know if there are other details in RDR2 epilogue or about John Marston you’ve noticed that has not been shared on this video #rdr2 #reddeadredemption #arthurmorgan

I find it ironic John changes his name for pretty much everything but his bank loan. Which tells the Pinkertons who owns the land and where to find him. Its John's biggest mistake.

Bro uncle sounds so genuine when he’s talking about how John hasn’t seen Sadie

Dutch’s speech always made sense. With or without this video. His speech is very easy to understand. It’s a brilliant speech. I’ll never forget it.

I'm surprised how Wrobel never tried to stand up to Arthur when he came for the debt, he seemed pretty aggressive and if you go into his house when exploring he's a hostile NPC.

"Can't fight fate, can't fight gravity." Dutch says that to Arthur before they jump off the cliff into the river escaping from Pinkertons. He then says it again to John before he jumps off the cliff, killing himself.

One of my favorite details are the men watching John in the distance when you first take over as him. Such a nice touch.

The house guy forgets johns name multiple times and forgets him entirely for a moment when you meet him with uncle

Dutch's last words make perfect sense, he was basically saying that times have changed, that we can't fight change, and if john killed him, they would just look for another to hunt and kill, as they need it to justify their actions, their kills, and all his "jobs" done before and about to be done next, that in his entire life, all he ever did was fight for a better life, a better place for everyone at the gang, times have changed and there are no more places for people like him, john, Hosea, Arthur and they can't change themselves, they "can't fight their own nature" and all the people that once lived in a land without rule. "It's a paradox, john, you see?"
Unfortunately, at this point, Dutch was already totally different from what he was, a good man with strong ideas, that cared about his people, and his "family" (Especially John, Arthur and Hosea), i feel so bad for him, an amazing character having such decay is absolutely sad, the man that he was a long time ago exists no more, but he still have conscience, He sure, deep down, he was still aware of everything and regrets the things he did after getting out of control after all those events, The cable car crash which supposedly drove him crazy, Hosea and Arthur's death (mainly Hosea's) the micah's influence, all the pressure of starting to live in a world he doesn't fit in anymore, a romantic and idealistic man, Full of dreams, but he never reached them and made them come true, he knew that the time of the outlaws already ended, such a sadly story.

"Our time is passed, john..."

I always figured the Mr. Martin thing was John's not so good penmanship alongside the house guy's general oblivious nature and speed at which he sold John the house.

He didn’t change his name to “Mr Martin”. That was just an example of how forgetful/out of it the owner was.

Never trust a man with the last name of a baked good.

Uncle sitting in the spot was one of the first things I noticed and it hit HARD

Not really part of the epilogue but on the bit about Dutch thought it was really cool they muddied the waters about his death. Playing only the first game it looks like suicide but he's made that same play with Arthur before in a desperate situation and it worked out. Almost gotta wonder if he was thinking he might have survived the fall.

I'm not so sure about the first one. When I visited Pearson while working for Geddes, John told him that he lived in Beecher's Hope, which really threw me. I was only on the 4th mission (where I helped Geddes' son ride a horse).

I don’t think John changed his name at the lumberyard, in later missions that guy is shown to be a total scatterbrain so I always took it as him just reading it wrong or already forgetting
