I like the idea of Asgore being more open than Toriel and actually opening the door to hang out with Papyrus, in contrast to Toriel never revealing herself to Sans due to her constant fear of being seen and the monsters who could harm the humans who come through the Ruins. Definitely reasons to be in hiding. But Asgore being a little more social with trusted friends rubs me the right way for some reason
