Welcome to what seems to be a quarterly realtime watercolor! Grab your supplies and let's paint the shoreline of Lake Superior together. No sketching necessary! If you draw anything, stick to just the shore itself, though I adapted mine from the photo.

I love, love, love how you took a big brown blob.... and suddenly it was rocks. That was amazing.

Your water is amazing. As are your rocks. After learning from you I’m ready to practice. Thank you for your smiling determination. Love you.

just an amazing painting! So great to watch the whole painting - getting past the ugly stage. BTW in "my day" it was called dissecting a sentence. But I sure know how verbiage changes over the years. TFS

This was wonderful, Sandy. I understand what you are doing with perspective, but not when I’m holding a paintbrush! Btw, I too still love to decline sentences and love to figure out punctuation. I think it’s a skill that messes with your brain forever after!!

Lots of artists call it calligraphy. I call it calligraphy although I'm still too tight with it. I bet a brush like the DaVinci would help. What I use is a soft almost floppy number 2 rigger from the Mimik squirrel line. It holds a decent amount of water and pigment and it's soft enough that I can get wide strokes as well as thin ones.

An excellent and easy to follow video. I have only just found your channel but will be looking out for future sessions.

New subscriber here, Sandy. My husband and I recently viewed a couple of your watercolor videos--what a treat!!! I saw this and immediately knew that it was Lake Superior (I'm a northern Wisconsinite residing in OR). Your videos are great; your narrative is educational and easy to listen to (SO MANY artists' narrative is filled with non-essential, incessant chatter). I'm looking forward to exploring more of your offerings along with jaunting through your gallery of delightful renderings. Thank you for sharing your art.

Ok few questions:
Payne’s grey blue substitute?
Red oxide substitute?
And guuurrrl I just checked on price of your palette?! Whaaaat?!
This is absolutely what I needed to learn how to do! You rock!

I have the needle brush is a size 5 and it's got to be one of top 3 favorite brushes.
But I doubt davinci makes a poor natural brush. I have never been dissapointed.

Sandy - the needle brush is no longer available on Amazon. Any good substitutes? Thx
