Top four reasons why everyone thinks Sora is an American:

1. He speaks English like a 1990s Southern California surfer dude.
2. He wears flannel religiously like a 90s grunge fan from Seattle.
3. He gives off a serious slacker vibe.
4. He has mastered sarcasm.

He's basically a Japanese guy cosplaying as 1990s Keanu Reeves.

You mean you don't ride giant robots?

Edit: I'm actually envious that you're close enough to everything to bike.

When I went to Japan I feel like I didn't get tired even when I walked around all day and it didn't matter if the train was fast or slow or if I took the bus it was just so fun I just wish I had that kind of stuff here

“No emission?”
Don’t act like you’re not gassing your way downtown on that bike.

Being able to take the bike almost anywhere ia already a marvel compared to the US.

Better a bike than the subway at rush hour 😖 Especially the Yamanote 😖

Stuff like the Shinkansen is cool, and really easy to access for tourists, but pretty expensive otherwise, and I think that there are many locals who generally prefer other options.
The last time I visited Japan I traveled around on the 青春18きっぷ, which only lets me use local trains. It took 10 hours to do something like go from Tokyo to Osaka, but the local trains really gave me an appreciation for normal Japanese life, and it was only ¥2000 per journey, so absolutely worth it!

As an American, the thing about biking in Japan that was surprising was: (1) most people bike on the sidewalk, not the street; and (2) no one wears a helmet. Being able to bike around pedestrians like that is a talent though.

Bicycle is just a superior version of zero-emission transportation.

No need of electricity, no fuel need, and makes you healthy.

Bruh, that is not a sad reality, that is amazing. In America, if you bike or walk, or even drive (which for a huge portion of the population is a necessity due to where they live) you have to be hyper vigiliant, checking like 360 degrees around you, always worried that some moron is going to speed right past you which is really unsettling. I never got that feeling in Osaka or Tokyo, only one I got close in where it got a little weird was in Kyoto which seems to have a lot more car use than in other places.

The bicycle is the first thing come into my mind. I know train is used to travel a really long distance.

I find it strange how people see bikes as weird or foreign or even backwards and then I remember that I live in the Netherlands. We have the infrastructure for it

Don't forget to lock it. I heard bike theft is the number one reported crime there

Being a teacher in Nagasaki I can say bike is obscenely good. You can have an infinite speed if you have enough Chakra during the uphill road

To be fair the shinkansen is better than most trains in the world, most people are just too broke to afford a ride💀

100x better than US transport, which is just cars outside of big cities. I wish I could bike to places in the US. You have to risk your life by riding on the road in order to bike in the US.
