I just bought my first saddle. I'll be starting out climbing DRS and I'll probably use the Double Blake's Hitch. Is it my best choice for my first rope which is Yale 1/2" XRT Fire. I've heard some hitches have trouble releasing under load. Is that a concern with the Blake's? What do you think about using the 5-3 Blake's with the setup in your video? Since I'm an oldie, I bought a Jet Step foot ascender to make the climb easier. I'm also considering getting a separate piece of rope to climb open DRS. Thanks for any help brother.
