FACTORIO ...!

Despite an irrational hatred of the name and the first impression that it's an overly complicated 2D minecraft-clone, Factorio is actually a great game about automating stuff as you edge ever closer to launching a rocket. It hooked me for weeks, haunted my dreams and has now earned itself a 2kliksphilip video.

I bought this a few weeks ago and once I launched it I played for 24 hours straight. Then I went to bed and had dreams about it, after I woke up I could still see conveyer belts everywhere for like 2 more days.

Would recommend.

You didn't mention the "factorio stare"
The factorio stare is when you're looking at your monitor, leaning back and forth, holding your chin and pointing at various parts of the monitor. In the game you are walking back and forth between areas, opening and closing the map view.
If you haven't played the game you have no idea what this means.
If you have, however, then you know it's an unavoidable part of building something you have never done before

I've 40 hours on it and yet I haven't beaten it yet, it's a long process, but everytime I look back at my previous attempts, I find it so rewarding seeing how much I've progressed.

My best gameplays of Factorio includes rich resources far apart, making train stations everywhere, as efficient as possible. Logistic Chests, robots. Learning it is hell, but fighting through with it and making something that goes as you intended makes you feel more accomplished than any other game I've played.
Also, if you're a perfectionist, you're gonna have a bad time. Almost everything after 30 minutes of gameplay feels bodged. Need plastic to make your circuit chip? Eeeh, just steal from this line that is for another thing and call it a day.

I've played around 500 hours of this alone because all of my friends said "it looks shit" (it does) and when I made them try it they didn't have the patience to get far enough for it to get fun and they never got the "Holy shit I can do this? And this?" kind of thought that I got when I first discovered what inserters can do. I also had a pirate copy for 400ish hours. I decided to buy because the replayability is endless and the devs are the best I've ever seen in any game. I'm glad you made this video. Gives the game some more attention and I feel like your audience might actually very much enjoy it!

You approached this game in exactly the same way as I did. Enemies off, so no timer adding stress to the already difficult task of building the factory. Like you, I want to get the building aspect down before turning on the biters.

This is based on a true story. After my friend suggested I should play factorio I was resistant to it at first but also playing it for a substantial amount of time I developed weird flashbacks and Nightmares revolving the game, my whole way of thinking resembled factorio and it became increasingly difficult the separate myself from this experience, eventually I started to act psychotic and at that point I decided that enough was enough and I had the part my ways from my beloved factorio. But after seeing this video you have spiked my temptation to resume my endeavors. Wish me luck.
