We LOVE European Christmas markets, so now that we live in Portugal we knew we had to explore every Christmas market we could find. We're sharing our top 3 favorite Christmas markets near Lisbon Portugal here!

You hit my favourite 3 as well! The first time I spent a day in Lisboa, it was the 19th of December and my friend (Portuguese) walked me around the whole of old Lisbon... and we hit both those markets. Beside the markets, it was just incredibly beautiful - lights absolutely everywhere!
Óbidos is my very favourite. I was taking Portuguese lessons there, twice a week and after class I'd wander around. You were absolutely right Michelle, it's a wonderful village and the best place to buy gifts and wonderful Christmas ornaments. I didn't go into the children's village but just wandering the streets every week was magical enough for me. I'd say I spent an equal amount of time in Óbidos, over my 3 months in Portugal, as I did every place else, combined. :)

The Christmas markets in Bavaria are excellent. The market in Strasbourg, France is also beautiful.

So much to take in! A gingerbread man dancing alone in a room. A picture of a deer in thigh high socks and high heels. That marionette show! But overall it looks so incredible and the decor in that last market is so cute!

Cascais is fun and festive as well! We spent the weekend in Rossio and LOVED it!! Will go to Obidos and Parque Eduardo soon...Thanks for the great info!!!

I, how you doing? its a bit out of the way, you need to fly, but Madeira Island all year round, but at Christmas, is phenomenal, magical, really worst the money spent.

Hi! I plan to be in Portugal from late August through Thanksgiving of this year. Do you remember when the decorations & markets show up in and around Lisbon? Hoping to experience some of that holiday magic while I’m there!

We live here as-well in Lisbon and appreciate your videos. My favorite European Christmas Market is in Tallinn Estonia . It’s also inside a Medieval City. Stay in the old town in a flat that has a Sauna is super awesome in the Cold weather. Enjoy🌲⭐️🌲

Hi Guys. Thanks for the awesome content. I'm lucky enough to be heading your way in March thanks to some of your great info that's helped a bunch! I'm assuming that long term you might want to apply after 5 years for permanent residence? It would be great if you could make a video that nails down the duration commitments to how long you need to be in Portugal per year for the whole process. I've heard different information online, anything from 6-8 months per year. I don't know if the the first 4 months on the D7 counts towards any of that? I also don't know if the residency visa allows you to travel through the EU as if you were still living in Portugal for the purposes of the residency. Any info you have would be greatly appreciated. I’m going to Lisbon at the end of November, im so excited about the Christmas markets but have no idea what to wear! Some people say it’s still pretty warm at that time of year then some people say it’s cold! 😂😅
