Nissan has done some great work with the d23.. i have the 2016 Sl and I honesty enjoy what I use it for.. sand driving and dragging things around like my ski or boat. It's fuel economy is amazing for 4by.. i get 6.9 on the highway and 8 to 8.5 in town.. can't beat that with a Hilux .. It's throttle response is pretty decent but it will never have what petrol offers.. but why would you want that in a 4by.. anyways good work nissan..

Just fix the noisy fuel rail.. It's return needs better optimisation so it doesn't sky rocket to 19k psi when you take off your foot of the accelerator and rattle it's arse out..

Despite the comments from people living in America I must say to me this option of a twin turbo on a smaller block compared to the D40 and on a somewhat flimsily structure overall adding a flimsy timing chain thats what makes it questionable dare I say laughable.
Still I am on my way to buy one NP300 and I am seriously considering the single turbo version.
Twin turbo = two engine parts that will fail eventually.
Twin turbo = overall engine under much more stress than with a smooth single turbo.
All for the sake of having more "power" and low revs or always "on tap"???
Buy a sports car...
Nothing against RENAULT wanting to re-utilise their RENAULT MASTER engines on pick ups...
but the more EGGS you take from the Omelette the less omelette it is...
Dont believe in me?
Strip a NP300 engine to the bare bone and you will see RENAULT casted onto the engine block.
