Yeah, these Flight decks are pretty amazing. Probably the best money can buy in terms of durability. I might get another 8" one in the near future (gave away my old one to try something new). I'm currently skating an Almost Impact Light deck, 8" and 8.25" and can't decide which size I like best. Because you are correct. The setup does end up heavier and it does take more energy to flip and get height. But at the same time, it's pretty comfortable to land on a bigger deck. It's probably what I like best about the Andy Anderson deck. Extremely comfortable to skate. But as I'm still learning basic flip tricks, a deck that big just isn't really a good idea (yet). I can flip the Andy Anderson deck, but it does take me lots of energy to do so.
