We haven't seen much rain to speak of in two months and our pastures and gardens REALLY could use a good drink! We have a lot to do to get ready for heavy rains due to Hurricane Francine, goats to move around and pastures to seed.... and PUMPKINS to harvest!!

@theShepherdess Thank you for this video!

You could use sandbags to divert water around the middle of the greenhouse. That is an impressive pumpkin patch! Wow! I couldn't imagine having that many grow. But you have definitely intrigued me regarding the pumpkins. Beautiful!

It was so funny to see Buster acting so much like an excited puppy! I guess having the kittens around reminded him of his younger days. And what an EVENTFUL time! Thanks so much for sharing this adventure with us! I'm cheering your pumpkin harvest, the securing of young seedlings, and the (hopefully) successful breeding of so many of your does. I hope both Winnie and Foxy are big enough in the Spring to breed for more Autumn kids along with Stormy (if her udder develops well). Loved seeing your kitty cat helper, too - He's so sweet and just wants to be in the business.

When you were seeding your field in fast forward it reminded me of Benny Hill 😂
Here in Wisconsin I can’t remember the last time we had rain. It must be 6 weeks or more. Which is really unheard of for this time of year. Hopefully you got a good soaking rain. Take care and God bless

Oh wow! Now I remember why I hand bred all my does. I could space out the breedings so the kiddings wouldn't be all in one week. 😂

Wow Heather, all kinds of goatie goats today! Feral doing his bucky talk is hilarious, it's so funny how different bucks can sound. Very exciting about future kiddings in the spring, and seeing Nef with Elsa with quite something hahaha. Love seeing how you're rearranging things for the pastures and doing the pasture seeding. The pumpkin walkway in the greenhouse is truly glorious! So happy for you in this very successful pumpkin patch, I know your family and your friends/family will truly enjoy the abundance there! Can see you do so much hard work, but I'm sure the payoff is so wonderful. Really hoping the rain is the nice soaking kind that y'all need. Looking forward to the bread recipe, when you have time. Lots of hugs! 💚💚

A low tech way to aerate your soil is to wear golf shoes or cleats while you are walking in that area. That with give you at least shallow indentations for your seeds to nestle in.

Hi Heather, on this video you really got a workout on most of the video.
Thank you. Have a great day.

So much rain is coming and we are rushing to get the fall garden in order. Love the pumpkins. We thought we had bought pumpkin starts but ended up with butternut squash. It's a win win situation I think. 😊

That is so exciting Heather! What an amazing harvest. I hope the pumpkins dont get wet in the greenhouse! The challenges are for real lol.... Going to try and make a small Greenhouse with the archways that we have here in the yard already and kind of make shift one lol. All the pumpkins and varieties of squashes have germinated and have busted out of the ground and looking good. Hopefully this Texas heat is out of here so it's more doable LOL for both men and beasts. Have a blessed day!
Let us know how you are liking that Eikorn flour. Remember that experiment that I mentioned prior where I cut a pumpkin with 10 inches of Vine on the right and left of it? That pumpkin by the way lasted a year and 2 months before I opened it up and it was beautiful inside. I'm really happy because that really gives us an opportunity to keep the pumpkins longer and enjoy them. We've been so dry here in this part of Texas it's not even funny

Maybe you can dedicate 1 bed each of 4x6 or 4x8 to clover and rye grass to get the seeds for your fields. It won't be enough to seed the entire field, but you can grab the dead heads and sprinkle them around.

That makes total sense. We do pigs every other year as well!
