it says welcome to maria db when i type mysql -u root and and error when i type mysql -u root - p -h 127.0.0.1

When I type in that command mysql -u root - p -h 127.0.0.1 and hit enter it tells me ERROR 1049 unknown database 'p'. What is that ?
