I remember the days, when a lot of jet engine and rocket engine parts manufacturing processes were top secret under. Some of those key manufacturing steps are still protected as classified under Missile Technology Control Regime (MTCR) even for parts destined for the civilian aerospace industry. For this reason, I find videos like this a miracle of freedom of information.

Great video. Whenever I'm a passenger in a plane, I think about a blade that self destructs and causes massive engine failure and explodes and we're all gonna die. Now I feel better.

It is not a turbine blade, but a stator vane to redirect the exhaust flow into a more optimal angle to strike the next set of blades. They are whirling by at a very rapid pace. 100 to 500 times per second. Each redirect gains efficiency. All the little holes and passages allow cooling air to blast the heat away and cool the exhaust, preserving the turbine blades, while expanding even more air which is the source of thrust.
During the early '80's we had a situation and I was tasked with keeping Engine assemblies available for 2 squadrons in Bermuda. 1st, they are last in line on the supply line for aviation parts.
2 squadrons means 18 4 engined airplanes complete with propellers, gearboxes, and wonderful turbines.

3 large drums full of 1st stage stator vanes was my only hope. Empty one on a huge table, divide scrap from emergency, and that can go a couple thousand more hours. Reclaimed enough to maintain those birds for 6 months.
4 months at that effort in 130 degree hangar working 18 hrs per day 7 days per week.
You would think a nice thank you would be in order but the CNO said crossrate or get out.
