Thank you so much for speaking on the problematic behaviour of Ben in Nov 9. It was honestly so disgusting, and I have an unedited copy - the scene that was edited out is when he corners her in a cupboard, she says ‘no’ (her actual words) but he continues (it happens in the club scene). I’ve just never understood why it was so loved. And the ending made me so bloody angry omg

I personally found November 9 to be incredibly toxic. My issue with this author is that she romanticizes abuse and non consensual sexual situations. The dress thing made my stomach turn. Not to mention Ben’s obsession with her scars 🤢. I also think you’ll much prefer the paris apartment by Lucy Foley, it’s very atmospheric. Also, I find that Karen M. McManus writes really good Ya thrillers. I think you’ll enjoy two can keep a secret, as well as her other books, The Cousins, You’ll be the death of me, and so excited for Nothing more to tell (coming out august 30).

I completely agree with where the Crawdads sing but I did finish it and I wouldn’t say it get good at the end it’s just once you get to the end it helps you better understand all that you just read better

So funny that you didn’t finish Where The Crawdads Sing, and I completely get it. 😂 I was sooo bored during the first part of the book. I made myself keep listening (Audible definitely helped with this book, but still not much). But yes, the second part was so good. I wish this book had just condensed the backstory into like maybe 1 or 2 chapters and then focused on her adult life and the main action. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Finally someone that also didn’t like Things We Never Got Over!! I 100% agree with everything you said. I don’t understand the hype at all.. I was literally trying to figure out if I read a different book than everyone else.

I felt exactly the same with where the crawdads sing, i dnfed it and i just couldn’t get into it. But I definitely recommend watching the movie bc I it was actually really good:)
