Cape Lookout - A Secluded Paradise | Beach Driving + Car Camping

Cape Lookout is an Island off the coast of North Carolina that is only accessible by boat and plane which makes it one of the most secluded beaches on the east coast. What makes Cape Lookout so unique to me is that you can purchase an ORV (Off Road Vehicle) permit for $25 which allows you to DRIVE on the beach and camp wherever you want! To give you an idea, the seashore spans just over 56 miles so you definitely don't have to worry about camping next to any loud neighbors. I've wanted to visit this place ever since moving to North Carolina and I finally made it happen.

One of my fav places in the world. Subies tend to do fine out on the beach where the sand stays packed, but the paths back behind the dunes tend to be deep soft sand that might give them trouble especially if not lifted and on larger off-road tires.

Great video brother! If you have the time, how do you create the map effect where the red line shows your route? Thought it was a nice touch. Keep it up man!

How did your AWD system handle the sand trip? Was driving difficult for you?
I’m about to do this same journey in my Toyota Highlander with Toyota’4wd’ system which is technically AWD…

Just curious. I have recovery traxx in case i get stuck 😂😂😂

You aren't saying Subaru correctly. You ALWAYS have to say it loudly like an angry Japanese guy: It is fun to say all the Japanese car manufacturers like that. NI-SAN!! TOY-OO-TAH!! MITSU-BISHI!! KOWA-SAKIIII1!!!
