How would jj know what he's talking about? Does he feel like theres a racial stigma around white people playing basketball? Of course white hoopers would say yes but black hoopers would say that they only give shit to anyone bad but if you're a good basketball player and white you get your flowers. Larry bird is an example. There no black guy out there saying Larry bird wasn't good maybe not athletic but not bad, in fact legendary.

So black hoopers may not relate to that and see that they're racially profiling but they are. Cuz if you black and sorry at hooping you gonna be clowned on too.

Reverse the narrative. Maybe someone like jj would get a contract extension over someone black. Now it's not necessarily because he's black and JJ is white. The black guy may think that he can get more points than JJ and he's more athletic why shouldn't he get that contract. He may be right but we all know JJ brings things to a basketball team rather than just a spot up shooter. He can be a valuable piece in the locker room.

Maybe you can only realize this with JJ because he's white but there's tons of examples of black players having this advantage especially today.

But can you see how black hoopers would feel like they're being mistreated.

These are not flaws of being white or black or whatever. These are flaws of the human being. Simply a misunderstanding that does need to be communicated. I don't think Perkins yelling over JJ was the right call.

We all have personal bias. It’s unmistakable. It is possible to make a population of NBA educated voters that looks like the population of players for an award as important as MVP. I support doing that to minimize legitimate criticism of the voting process. I see Mr. Perkins bringing up a legitimate point, and his point has nothing to do with racism. Everything to do with personal bias of the voting population. Steps can be taken to deal with the possible bias in the voting process.
